PRESS RELEASE

The Burnaby Public Library Board is pleased to announce the appointment of M. Edel Toner-Rogala as the new Chief Librarian of Burnaby Public Library. For the past eleven years, she has been the Chief Librarian of Prince George Public Library, where she has been instrumental in maintaining a tradition of high quality library service and in developing the technological infrastructure of the library.

Ms Toner-Rogala has been an executive member of numerous regional organizations in Prince George: the Child & Family Community Planning Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Planning Council, the Institute of Public Administration among them. She has also been the Chair of the Association of British Columbia Public Library Directors and served on the Executive Council of the Canadian Association of Public Libraries.

Ms Toner-Rogala will begin her new duties on September 02.
